Counselling and Psychotherapy


Counselling and psychotherapy are talking interventions based

on the intentional use of relationship between practitioner and

client to facilitate self-knowledge, emotional well-being, and

personal growth. 


Generally speaking, counselling tends to focus on resolving

problems and emotional distress related to day-to-day issues,

and psychotherapy explores deeper, long standing issues to

facilitate positive changes to behavior and cognition, freeing the

client to make healthier choices of thought, feeling, or action.


In addition, counselling and psychotherapy offer an opportunity

for clients to develop skills in areas such as assertiveness,

interpersonal problem-solving, relaxation, visualization, coping

strategies, and anxiety, stress, or anger management.
